Information For Service providers

National Green Jobs Corp is an initiative of the Australian Government. During each National Green Jobs Corps placement of 26 weeks, participants work full time in a team of ten. They receive accredited training and significant work experience in a range of skills in environmental and heritage projects, and green energy initiatives.

Participants are paid a supplementary allowance for the duration of their project.

How do I refer?

To get a place on a Green Corps team, referers need to make an application online.

Information for Job Network Providers

Can I claim an outcome payment for job seekers who go to Green Corps?
No. But through the program, job seekers will get full time work experience, accredited training, and meet local employers. After Green Corps they are much more likely to get work.
Who is eligible?
Green Corps is available to all young people aged between 17-20 years who are Australian citizens or who can demonstrate they are eligible for the Youth Allowance. Successful applicants need to provide evidence of eligibility (e.g. birth certificate).
Will the job seeker 'fall out' of the job search continuum?
You can claim outcome and service fees for job seekers while they are in Green Corps.
On completion of the project they will return to the normal place in the continuum.
How can I help my job seeker succeed?
Green Corps participants work in groups of ten with a skilled Team Leader who provides daily supervision and support.
Some participants may benefit from additional support - for example, extra literacy/numeracy coaching, help with the cost of a chain saw ticket. The Job Seeker Account can still be used to provide additional support for eligible job seekers while they are on Green Corps.

Information for Disability Providers

Job Futures has successfully integrated many participants with disabilities into Green Corps, working closely with service providers to achieve this. At this stage, clients of the Disability Employment Network are not entitled to participate in Green Corps while in DEN, however DEWR will consider applications on a case by case basis. Contact us if you are interested in referring a client who is currently in DEN.
