Conditions
To participate in Green Corps, you must be an Australian citizen or resident, and aged between 17 and 20.
If you're selected for the Green Corps programme, you'll work on a 26 week (6 month) project.
As a team member you'll be eligible for the participant allowance which is $291 per week for projects commencing in the 2007/08 financial year. You'll be paid fortnightly during the project.
If you're on Youth Allowance, you need to tell Centrelink that you're working with Green Corps.
You're expected to be involved 5 days a week, full time. You get 10 days sick leave. You don't need a medical certificate for 5 of these days. After you've taken 5 days sick leave, you'll need a medical certificate for each of the extra days you take off in sick leave.
If you take 2 or more days sick leave in a row, you'll need a certificate, and if you take sick leave on the day before or after a public holiday, you'll also need a medical certificate.
You'll be working to a team leader who'll supervise the group throughout the project.
Green Corps will support you so that you have the best experience in the programme. In return, we expect you to co-operate with the team leader and the other members of your team.
